Crazy Snow!!!!

fatdog - 2008-12-11 16:13

We are getting some crazy snow here in Middle Tennessee! My daughter and I met the wife at Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. On the way there, it was raining lightly mixed with a miniscule amount of sleet. In the hour that we were there, it had snowed enough to blanket everything with about an inch of the white stuff.

The parking lot is on a slope and my back tires are as slick as glass. I told my wife that I'd never be able to back out of my parking spot (uphill). Luckily, the Bimmer has enough power that the slick tires melted their way through the snow. I almost took out two other vehicles in the process though. Eek Even the main highway getting back home had disappeared in the snow.

Here are some shots after finally making it back home.

Looks beautiful but when I lived in New York there were times that I would hate it!

We got a foot of snow here Monday night/ Tuesday morning... it took 3 1/2 hours of constant snow blowing to clear my driveway. When I was done there were 3 more inches on the deck my wife had just shoveled clean earlier.

Welcome to Wisconsin....

Looks crazy FD. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow and continue through to Monday. When I flew out of Kyrgyzstan last year, it was -10F. I was welcomed home and wifey had my a$$ on the roof shoveling 2 feet off the roof. Some homowners here had their roofs cave in. It sucked and I'm not looking forward to shoveling it again.

Love your work Bobby! Great pic. Love the snow shots.. always wanted to spend an xmas in the u.s or uk/.eu for the real xmas experience... snow's not too common down here at the best of times, let alone the middle summer.

Hope everyone with snow is enjoying it as much as I would be.

Rock On.

Great photo FD-By the way-Ideal boombox operating temperature for cass/cd operation:Above 40 degrees farenheit.
Below 36 operation gets slow especially if exposed to wind-I know-up in Minnesota alot!
Just remember when your going to do some outdoor activities with boombox-HMM.Maybe I should make a boombox heater!!
Have a great one-GB. Smile Nod Yes Cool

Are you allowed to drive on the roads with slicks in Tennessee, or were you being a bit, er, poetic? Smile

My rear tires had tread at one time. They are just shy of being totally worthless at the moment. Maybe Santa can bring me a new set of tires for Christmas. Big Grin

isolator42 - 2008-12-12 15:25

meh, you guys in the free world... Smile
We have minimum tread depth laws in the UK.
Tyres with less than 1.6mm tread depth are illegal & if the rozzers stop you the fines are hefty: up to £2500 & 3 penalty points per tyre (12 points = driving ban). Penalty points increase your car insurance premium too.
Driving with illegal tyres also invalidates your car insurance, so they won't pay out if they find an illegal tyre if you have an accident.
Finally, illegal tyres will fail the car's MOT (a mandatory annual safety check), which makes the car illegal on the road.

You get the idea, we drive with plenty of tread on our tyres in the UK... Smile

Have a great one-GB. Smile Nod Yes
