Complaining..

2steppa - 2008-07-19 10:49

Are you a good complainer - or do you sit quietly and seethe/glare daggers at people etc...?

Me:
Generally speaking if something is clearly wrong/missed/overcharged etc I'll make it known that is the case and put the ball firmly in their court.
All politely, calmly and in a friendly way if possible.
Sometimes I do keep quiet about minor grumbles where others would be making a scene about it, but I don't see the point in making a spectacle of yourself in public over something trivial, spoils the vibe of the day and just gets me stressed and wound up.
I've found that as I get older I tend to get more annoyed by poor service and therefore complain more. I hate poor service, I hate being ignored in shops when 18 year old sales assistants stand around chattering to each other about what they got up to on Friday night..

Like you it just depends. If it is a minor annoyance that could not be helped then no I don't say anything. If it is something caused by sheer ignorance or poor attitude then I will say something. More in an encouraging way than to belittle. Especially with today's uneducated sales people. A good example is the big box stores that hire these kids and don't teach them a damn thing about the products they carry or what they are supposed to be responsible for. I find myself telling them more about stereos, pc's etc. and blowing their minds. So I try to be patient with them.

Fast food resteraunts are a haven for lazy a** kids who want an easy buck. You'll have ten in there but only the manager and two or three are busting their chops to get anything done. Smile

41 next week (23rd) Smile I find listening to people ramble on about a topic to impress others s a great opportunity to see how much "BS" they're dishing. I'll calmly asked them a related question to get their attention drawn to me. They'll proudly offer their expertice-- then, I tactically shut them down in front of their audience about their "facts". With age, comes wisdom and life experiences. That's something some people just can't step to you with. It's fun to be able to go farther "back in the day" than others can. And to my elders, I shut up and learn from them when they're speaking. I do put sales/servers/clerks on the spot when there is poor service being offered. If it's THAT blatant to you and your guest, dish it back at the server, etc. Shame on THEM for punking you out in public like that. Nod Yes
