Beverly Hills Cop Axel Foley Adidas?

the.bunyip - 2008-07-13 21:05

Anybody recognise the exact kind of Adidas these are? I thought they looked like Adidas Country's but I might be wrong

No, you're right... they are Country's. Wink

Dang! I think these are the closest I could find made today. Country II's

There's these that look a little more on the mark on eBay but I'm guessing they're fake plus $80 seems a bit steep just for a pair of them

I'm learning plenty about fake Adidas right now. Although I can't speak for this particular seller, my experience has shown me that sellers of genuine Adidas from HK who ship worlwide are few & far between...

Oh don't worry. I've heard the EXACT same thing

There's some pretty impressive knock offs out there as well

yup - I won a pair of what turned out to be fake Adidas Superstars (35th anniversary Run DMC edition) recently on eBay:

They were pretty damn good, they had a high quality look & feel, with just a couple of tell-tales that you'd never know about if you hadn't been told by those in the know.

The first thing that stuck out for me was the inclusion of blue laces, which are not part of the real set. I noticed some small differences in the rubber sole where it meets the leather and logotype differences for the adidas logo.

not bad fatdog, not bad at all Smile
Those blue laces were a giveaway for sure.

Also, the logo on the back is too small & the stitching on the sides (between the 3 stripes & the Run DMC logo) is the wrong shape...

I knew none of this when I bought them, of course. Seller was most understanding, refunds, etc. I think I was lucky there.

btw, I got the knowledge from those nice guys at SuperstarsDB.com

You and Fatdog are right on the money! I had to dig mine outta the pile... Those sneakers don't come laced-up out the box - you have to hook 'em up yourself. Blue laces? Roll Eyes
They only come with red, white and black laces... The RUN DMC logo looks kinda sloppy on both the sneakers and the lace tags...

You do have to admit that it's pretty amazing how close to the originals counterfeiters got. Those without an eye for the finer details won't even spot the discrepancies. Then again, the biggest discrepancy of all is the price. Expensive sneakers that sell dirt cheap are never real. Wink

Glad to know he gave you a refund. Smile I assume he didn't wanna mess up his 100% positive feedback rating. Big Grin
