I guess so!!! I moved it over to tinypic. You should be able to see it now. (I could still see it before... must have been in my cache.)

iv'e seen these in person before ,the oval domes where added to the cone for rigidity to stiffen the cone to reduce distortion at high volumes.

skippy1969 - 2009-04-28 18:19

That makes sense Floyd. I think they look very cool and I'm sure they sound great. Big Grin

jvc.floyd - 2009-04-28 19:35

yes they do sound great scott ,i had a chance to buy a pair of these but like a dummy i passed them up .

skippy1969 - 2009-04-28 19:45

DOH!!!! Roll Eyes Frown

jvc.floyd - 2009-04-28 19:48

if i recall these had 15 inch woofers and were just to big for my house at the time ,i thought they were very unique but i just could not afford nor had the room for them.

skippy1969 - 2009-04-28 20:05

I know how the "no room" thing is....... Roll Eyes
I want to get a small vintage Marantz or Sansui home setup, but I don't have the room either......... Roll Eyes Frown

Skippy this is what you need --- Toshiba System 15

When you come over you can see mine... I have several System 15s. Along with some System 12 and System 10 stuff that I am probably going to be selling. A whole system and a nice set of bookshelf speakers would not take up much more room than a large boombox.

skippy1969 - 2009-04-29 09:59

Thats really cool Spud,I would love to check that sucker out. Does it sound nice? Big Grin

71spud - 2009-04-29 10:17

Yes, it sounds very nice, compares to some of the best full-size home systems. They are heavy.... all metal, caste and machined aluminum. All metal switches... quality stuff and retro too, being 30 years old. I think a complete set ran a couple grand "back in the day". And compact too. Take a look at the pictures... each of those components is only 10" wide!!

The system 15 had a digital tuner, but I also have a system 10 analog tuner. I will make sure I have some set-up so you can hear... if we can find a time to get together sometime soon... check your PMs Skippy... Wink
