Best movie-soundtrack?

kid.sensation - 2008-06-11 14:39

hi poeple!

Im not a big movie-guy myself and due to that i may not know all nice movie-soundtracks.

But still my all-time favourite until now is
"A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics" from the movie "A beautiful mind".
It simply knocks out every other great soundtrack/song i heard until today

check it out here!

That's simply one emotional and very sweet piece of Art.

The only close catch to this is the Gladiator soundtrack in my ears.(eg "Now we are free")

Somehow they might be my favourite ones as they both were with me and my first great love Smile

So asking, what's your favourite movie-soundtrack, or what's your favourite song from a soundtrack?

I hope to find new great soundtracks and maybe i can find new great movies too with your toughts about the best soundtrack Smile

cheers guys&gals!

Oh, man, picking a favorite is a tough job. Aside from the original Star Wars soundtrack, I would pick the soundtrack from "The Last Samurai" as one of my favorites. I can sit and listen to that and just melt away into some other world.

A second favorite is the soundtrack from "The Legend of 1900" starring Tim Roth. Most of the music score is by Ennio Morricone. It also features Roger Waters and Eddie Van Halen on the last track. The song "Playing Love" can, and sometimes does, bring tears to my eyes it is so beautiful.

COOL WORLD.

It was ground breaking at the time. Early 90's Electronica.

Portrait Of A Lady.

Dont think music can make a grown man cry? This is the most sorrowfull classical I have ever heard in my life. Almost hard to listen too. Perfect soundtrack to grey days!

oldskool69 - 2008-06-11 20:04

OH! I almost forgot! (How could I?)

HEAVY METAL!!!!! (All Star Soundtrack!)

ford93 - 2008-06-11 22:05

2001 A Space Odyssey.

American Gangster and Jackie Brown which both has Bobby Womack's 110th Street song I love that one.

I'm down with the Vince DiCola Transformers love too. You guys would probably enjoy some of the movie OST's by Joey Carbone and Richie Zito (Project A-KO especially, PM me and I can upload a track if interested). Very much cut from the same marvellous cloth as the Transformers OST. The world needs more music by these grandmasters.

Some of my favourite soundtracks, in no particular order:

American Psycho
Baraka
Once Upon A Time In The West
Blade Runner
Breakin' & Electric Boogaloo
La Haine
Escape From New York
Joysticks
Suspiria
Interstella 5555

fatdog - 2008-06-13 11:26

Do any of you Transformers fans have any of Tony Bacala's remixes of Transformers music?

kid.sensation - 2008-06-13 11:36

I must admit that i never saw the original Transformers movie neither the new version.

After searching youtube, hearing the original soundtrack..WOW!

That's one great tune right there..I need to check out the movies now Cool

Also the other soundtracks/songs caught my ears..did not imagin that there is so much nice music out there.

Think i have to watch a lot movies in the near future Big Grin

Thanks guys!
