Sad State of the State

thafuzz - 2009-01-22 08:36

Okay, so I go file my taxes the other day. Not expecting to be pleasantly surprised. I just about broke even. My tax preparer tells me "Oh! you have some good news and some bad news". So I cross my arms and say "Just hit me with it". She says, "You have $68 owed back to you from the State of California - the bad news is, you're not gonna see it because the CA Gov. is currently writing I.O U.s and ALL State Tax Returns are being withheld indefinitely". $68 bucks mind you! Roll Eyes I'd like to charge them interest on my $68 bucks for holding MY money. Leaving

Hey Adam, that sucks. How come if the tax man owes us money,he can please himself if and when we get it,but when we owe him ,its instant payment or jail for us.I know its only $68 but its the principle of it

Remembering a line used in a Sir Mixalot rap song "The TaxMan is a Pimp" and we all gotta pay him. On a related CA. budget note, My CHP(Cal Highway patrol) friends are having to account for all their gas fillups- even "H40" they're helicopters. They're encouraged to be mindful of they're patrols vs. sitting stationary on the side of the road and shooting Radar/Lidar.

Ah yes the Lawyers of government that write all these Laws which in some cases do help us, but in most cases it's for their benefit!

Wait until everyone adjusts their state withholding so they are assured of NOT getting refund. Which is what you should do anyway... not let the state have your money "Free". Then the state will see their income stream dry up. And when it comes tax day alot of people won't have the money to pay IN and will just ignore their taxes and go off the grid or sit on their arse waiting to be take care of.

Heck even Obama's Treasury secretary ~forgot~ to pay his taxes... an "honest" mistake... yeah right... How far do you think one of us would get with that line?

We are very close to a tax revolt in this country, and it is about dman time. The government is HUGE and now is going to get BIGGER and they NEVER do without or cut back or become more efficient... everything they expect us to do. Now they will tax us more, to pay for their own programs and to give out to the unproductive... and things will shrink even more... it will become an endless cycle.

We are in big trouble people... and voting ourselves goodies was the beginning of it. Thanks alot FDR...

oh, and FUZZ, don't forget that ALL THE REST of the money you paid in was "your money" too... until they took it. I would worry more about that than the $68.
