noodle - 2011-03-08 08:53

Hello, my name is Will (Noodle).. I am 16 and live in Ipswich, Suffolk. I currently do not own a boombox but it is my mission to acquire one soon (very soon) and get one that i can be proud to say "That was my fist box" with a smile on my face. Clearly as i don't have a real job i wont be getting any of the sought after boxes any time soon, but one day.. you never know the few members i have spoken too all seem awesome and knowledgeable, so yeah. Hi

also if there is an introductions section that i missed, feel free to move this there thank you

Hi Noodle,

Welcome to the forum.  The best advice I can give is to just keep your eyes open in your daily travels.  Visit the thrift shops, car boots, etc. and let your family/friends know you're seeking one.  They'll keep you in mind when they spot one.

There is no substitute for trying a radio out for yourself, testing the features, listening to it before deciding to spend your hard-earned money on it.  This is something you simply cannot do on the Internet.

Seeking one is (at least) half the fun.  Good luck finding your first boombox.

aha, I checked all the charity (thrift?) shops in my area that sell electronics, all i saw was a £100 stereo and a pair of speakers that i suggested to my bro and has now subsequently bought, the internet isnt idea for these kind of things but needs must unfortunately.

and I cant wait to get my first box, got to make sure its something good

hey man, good luck on your hunt.

car boots and old electrical shops have been best for me.

ebay is ok sometimes.

this place is probably one of the best places to buy from though, any you see out and about will likely be rubbish, on here atleast you know it will be good.

they really are hard to find though, you do need a dose of luck to find one out in the wild.
