What do you guys make of this?

I know its not technically a boombox but its as heavy as one, it appears to be a crossbreed of a Boombox, alarm clock and a answer phone, its called a Binatone telecorder acording to the badge on it and it was only £1. I dont know much about it or if it works yet, the deck door is loose and the back up battery cover is missing, its also mains only.

Im still looking for a boombox before anyone asks, I just picked this up as it was cheap and I like old things.

Just tested it, and whilst it all works it ate the tape when I stopped it, its also a nusiance that the main switch has gone so you have to flick an annoying little metal stub which is stiff due to lack of care. Needs a good service me thinks and a few parts.

it's a ... sorry we cannot say it here ( giggle )

If you didn't live so far away and you being so young ( Birthday tomorrow & yadda ) and desiring a Sanyo... we have either a Sanyo M9902-2 or a M9903 we would give up one of these - so that you could have something that works and would be a traditional looking box and close to looking like that Sanyo that you are searching for in another thread here

I didnt buy it as the replacment for my long lost box, I just bought it out of curiosity as it was very cheap. It is a shame about the distance as I would love one of those Sanyos, Ill keep on searching for the right box and in the mean time Ill stock up on cassettes, I wont be playing them in this though as it seems to think they are rather tasty, Ill proberly have it as my alarm clock when I move out as theres nothing quite like waking up to thrash metal.
