Docking Stations

davelc2 - 2011-11-22 21:40

Just wondering what you guys & gals use for docking your iPods and iPhones? Due to a lack of space my docking station has become my primary sound for a while. After doing a little research and spending quite a bit of time comparing the different docking stations to various tracks I went with a Klipsch iGroove SXT and I LOVE it! I took it with me to Hawaii on vacation as it took very little space and rocked the hotel room for being so small. Chuck it on the bed around the pillows and the bass response really kicks it nicely. What got me it the detail and clarity. This is the track that made me decide.

Wow that i-station looks pretty cool. I was actually looking for a used JBL but I kept missing out on the auctions. I ended up just going to Best Buy.

Yeah thanks for that. That was by far the worst day of my life  It gets a little easier as time goes on. I'm doing pretty good now days. My son just turned 29 months the other day and it's hard to believe that her was a little under 4 months old when that happend. Thanks again.

Dave

Not alot of people dont know this about me,and maybe i'm being a tad too personal..

my parents fought all the time when i was a kid,my mother died of alcahol when i was 4 years old,i never had any real parent to guide me,my lifes been a mess since i was a kid, because of this, all of my life,i've been miserable and depressed,i've avoided contact with the public because i find it difficult to communicate with people face to face,i dont have many friends,i hardly ever leave the house,i have been taking medication for depression and anxiety for years and i've never lived a normal life..and here i am wasting away in misery..some people from this site may have got the wrong idea of me,like through failed ghetto deals ect..i can name a certain person,he knows who he is..i do feel bad about what happened, and i was too fast to send him a nasty PM a while ago,i feel a fool..

but when i see stories like yours dave,it makes me feel embarrassed and ashamed to feel like i do,when i think that i have a choice, but your wife did'nt..there is people out there that have no clue how to be a parent, then there is people like you and your wife could have been perfect parents, that got took away from you, looking at what you have been through,it makes my problems look so small..

life just is'nt fair man !! just not fair !!

Found ( Docking Stations ) Oversea's - too far to travel every time

Steering the conversation delicately back on topic.

I didn't like the docking stations I saw for sale, most of them insist on being terrifying design statements with sound quality that just didn't deliver.  Those that do sound good are equally terrifyingly expensive, so I built my own.

The key element here is the lead that takes the ipod's line out and not via it's internal headphone amp.  This signal goes into a digital mixer which acts as a pre-amp then to a 400 watt PA amp.  Sounds surprisingly good, esp at low levels.

Don't have a ipod or a iphone -

( My celular-phone is a Motorola V557 ... still works just fine as a Speaking device to other people )

- jest yet as I am still having a hard time trying to find where you insert the cassette tape into - that's my issue
