Help Needed Bigtime !!

ghettoman - 2012-04-05 12:40

ok i sold a stereo on ebay, auction ends..2 days later i get the message "awaiting payment" and payment was initiated on 25th march and is being processed by paypal, after a few days, buyer starts getting on to me asking when i am going to ship,i replied and said that the payment has'nt cleared yet..few days later i get another message asking me if i am going to ship yet,but i checked and it still said payment is being processed by paypal,so being a good guy i am,i said "tell you what i will do,if payment has'nt cleared by saturday i will send the radio anyway and i will just hope it clears"

anyhow, saturday came, still not cleared,so i sent the radio with tracking, the buyer has recieved it..

anyhow, things have got bad,i have found that *somehow* ebay have gone into my old relic, ancient dorment email address and reserected it from some where, now we have found that the money has gone to my old email address, and the buyer said its sat there unclaimed, but he does'nt want to cancel because he is worried that he may be liable for something, not sure..but he has the radio, the cash was sent to my old dissused email,i have no radio and no cash..soo bigtime hasstle..

getting sick of ebay, seems that every time i do anything, problems come out from the woodwork no idea how ebay have put that old email address to this transaction,i have'nt used it for years and i cant access it anymore,it possibly may not even exist anymore, but still,i have lost bigtime !!

ghettoman - 2012-04-05 13:25

By the way,the buyer is brilliant,he is communicating all the way,and trying his hardest to sort it out with me,its not him,its ebay, they are stupid !

You sure have look into it before and explain it to the buyer that their no paypal account under that email and no way to claim the payment, but that he can reverse and cancel the payment, being the payment never been claim, making it no risk to him.

Now worst case, because the buyer can reclaim the money back and now doesn't want to pay for the box and using excuses, he could be honest to, but just in case. I would call Paypal customer service ASAP!! and see if they can correct the mistake. If he a international buyer, would call your local post office, or main office and have the stop delivery and request the package to be sent back and tell the the reason is item was never paid for, you will have to pay for return shipment fee.

hi retrodos,no the buyer is in uk same as me,he is being a real good honest guy about it,i think he is genuine and i dont think he would do that, same as neither would i to anyone else,i am an honest guy and he seems a really honest buyer too..we are just trying to sort things out between us,ebay are useless, but if it comes to it i will contact paypal/and or ebay and find out what is going on..

just sold a walkman on ebay

it only sold for 40 quid - so didn't do recorded delivery

the guy then without warning 1 week later files an item not received complaint

and ebay have given him the money back

I have a reciept showing I paid for a packet - just not a postcode or record of it ever getting there

I fricking hate eBay and dodgy barstewards

to be honest mate the problem got worse when you sent the radio without having the cash in your hand.   please dont do that again man, it almost always ends in tears when people do that.  i did it once and got scammed out of £200.  and you know what im like with this sort of thing, arthur daley an all that.   doesnt fly well with me.

get on to paypal, and try get the buyer to cancel the payment since you cant.

ghettoman - 2012-04-05 15:41

Badger and andy, trust me guys, i have been through that and other stuff a good few times,i've had boxes thats been knackered "before the sellers sent them" they just try a fast one knowing it will cost me loads of money to return stuff,so i just grit my teeth and dont bother..i just take the loss myself !!

the last time i did it i got a psp screen,it arrived unrecorded, when it arrived it was smashed,i contacted the seller and he told me to send it back,i did (unrecorded) i sent him a message asking if he got it,and funny enough he would'nt tell me wether he did or not,he just asked me how i sent it,i said i sent it the same way he sent it to me,he laughed and said "if you did'nt send it recorded you've had it mate" then toodled off with my cash..

with me as a seller,i'm just an honest (some say gullable) guy,i always like to help people and dont think of the possible consiquences, but fantastically the buyer re sent me the cash, but paypal have took £5 for recieving it,and i think they will still take £9 for final value fee,i was wondering if maybe we could cancel, least i will get my final value fee back.i have started to hate ebay "ALOT" Seems that everything i do on there creates problems, out of no fault of me or the buyer, its ebay that messes stuff up mostly..and the odd few that dont read auctions properly..

oh and i must give praise to the guys honesty,so if any of you deal with ebay member jamesmurrayllb, deal with confidence because he is a propper trustworthy, honest fellow, propper top guy

mrupscale1 - 2012-04-05 17:03

I think you should just go to old Paypal account and just transfer to your new account. you can contact paypal if you no longer have login info. I think Jamesmurryllb is great for staying with you on this .A++++ Epayer. Also never mail without payment clearing first.
