Any members in the Gatwick area up for a pint next week?

ao - 2012-11-03 01:55

I'm doing some work on our UK house in East Grinstead next week (Nov 5-12), would be nice to meet up with anyone if they're around.  Will be staying in Guildford.

Well, to be specific I'll be in Turners Hill so just down the road.  PM me your mobile number and we'll sort something out.  I've already got one other so maybe a mini UK meet is in order.

Good idea, I'll wheel one along.

Ric, if I was honest, I'm more of a Bordeaux man but you're right, you're not going to catch me chewing on a warm, flat pint of Scrimshaw's old Shitter are you?

litfan - 2012-11-03 09:54

Depends, if it`s got a good head on it, or not. "Old speckled hen is better." What about, some fevre beans, washed down with chianti fffffffffff.

I remember when I lived in Leeds we used to go to nightclubs and still drink bitter, it's a culture thing up there.  It took me a while to get over bitter (Tetleys mostly) when i returned darn sarf.  Can't drink the crap now, tastes (and smells) like piss.

northerner - 2012-11-03 10:40

Yeh but it's good northern piss...lovely!

Where in the Dales?  I love the Dales, used to cycle round Skipton, Ilkley, Settle & Hawes.  But yeah, you don't go into these pubs and ask for Stella.

litfan - 2012-11-03 12:53

Indeed. Also, ignore the sign saying "5 miles to success" .

isolator42 - 2012-11-03 17:36

Well, if it doesn't scare everybody off, I'm up for this

northerner - 2012-11-03 17:39

Where in the Dales?

The nearest of those to me is Hawes but I'm in Richmond which is just as hilly. It's proper Dales-y with cobbles, castle, river etc...it's a lovely place to live, bitch of a place to cycle tho!
