I had no idea he had passed away. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I worked with Frank in 1985 for a few months and he was a great guy.

R.I.P. indeed.

RIP, I did enjoy the series when nothing was on TV. Ah, the brown toned 70's with the prism colored lensflare ghosted lighting (seen near light objects with early color tv camera's)

I would be happy to tell you about it....

I was 16 and did a one week work experience at Leicester Haymarket Theatre. I was working with the stage management team and the show was 'Me and My Girl' and two of the stars were Frank Thornton and Robert Lyndsey (AKA Citizen Smith). After the week I was getting on so well with the team and cast I carried on with the show until it left for London about four months later. I was asked to go with them but had exams to do at school, so that was the end of my theatre experience. I had spent time running the sound and lighting systems during the shows as well as hanging out in the wings while semi naked women were running around changing costumes. It was a great time to be a straight teenager among a team of mostly gay people. Good times.

Thought he'd died years ago! He must've reached a fair age as he was old when he was on tv. Mrs Slocombe's well dodgy comments about her cat were hilarious
