767 just arrived in the bigget box i have ever seen

radio.raheem - 2013-05-31 09:17

im 6ft and this box is nearly up to my belly button... i know for a fact it's well packed before i open her...what the most ultra amazing thing is though....it cost the seller under a 10nner to send.....who is yodel...and it was tracked......impressions in an hour...it's gunna take me that long to open it....i sent a box this size to a member and it cost me £50 this gall must have been married to Redbenjoe at some point because she certainly knows how to pack

bison - 2013-05-31 09:21

nice one Reno, yodel are good mate very cheap,i got a parcel off yodel yesterday of someone in their own car, they advertise for drivers to deliver stuff using their own cars

brutus442 - 2013-05-31 09:34

And yes Ira knows how to pack!

northerner - 2013-05-31 10:20

Awesome! I was just wondering what had happened to that 767. Well in a weeks time when you manage to get it out of the packing let us know how it is

lav.loo - 2013-05-31 10:39

radio.raheem - 2013-05-31 10:40

I dont feel like typing guys a TOTAL fecking scam hardly any screws holding her togeather missing batt terminals.........tried the radio all seemed fine till i noticed she was in mono....went to the right channel...dead....anyway took the back off one of the speakers held in with 1 screw thats it....all the speakers had been wired to the left hand channel...i have re wired it looks like the correct way..but i know for a Fact one of the channels must be dead otherwize why wire the lot to one channel..gunna try when i can be botherd...i feel sick....fuck egay good job you diddnt by it si you would have been gutted....as fucking usual i have been screwed over

northerner - 2013-05-31 10:58

Gutted for you mate

If they were clueless enough to lose all the screws then they might've been clueless enough not to try switch cleaner...you never know.  Tho the idea of someone clueless messing around in there ain't good.

Just don't do anything hasty with it...put it down until tomorrow when you'll have chilled a little.

Remember its just a box and it can be fixed, just might take a bit more than expected

radio.raheem - 2013-05-31 11:13

youre a nice guy si i wont get any help here the only guy that helped me was ghettoman...although to be fair deliverance has offered to try and fix my m90...im not sure why im in this hobby lad...its useless if you don't have any tech know how specially when dealing with 30 yr old bodged radios....i need somebody here...i have what 30 radios and they all have faults or don't work....its actually quite funny thinking bout it lad....i have worse luck than victer meldrew lol

northerner - 2013-05-31 11:27

Lol we've probably all got boxes that don't work...the last big box I got was a beautiful Aiwa 990 but that's only on one channel like your 777...exhausted my meagre skills and its still not working...well frustrating. I've just put it to one side for the moment but Docs has kindly said he'd have a look at it as he sorted his out that had the same problem.

As I say just put it to one side until the anger has subsided a little then have a look again

Then move nearer civilisation

if it's any consolation, you are not alone

stereo.mad - 2013-06-01 01:32

These 767's are quite simple and easy to repair lad..... Send it to me and ill fix it

mitchelljames - 2013-06-01 04:06

Oh Reno, i feel for you mate you. If you didnt have bad luck you would have no luck at all.

I was actually looking at that box aswell, once again youve been the guinea pig for the rest of us.

If its any help when i thought my old 767 was beyond repair i parted it out and actually got more back than i paid for it. You could could sell the switch covers, antennas, deck doors, speaker grills, power supply/transformer, battery cover, speakers (if they work),front case, rear case, plus theres all the internal gubbins.

It might be a bit of aggro but could maybe get your money back.

Gook luck.

kin - 2013-06-01 05:30

oh man what a shame. I feel sorry for you.

On the bright side, at least it looks good on the outside and internals can be repaired/replaced?

deech - 2013-06-01 05:32

RR maybe this 767 is fixable.

I think you know your stuff .

If it s not then what mitchelljames says above

is a good suggestion to get your money back.

I f you dont mind asking how much did you pay for it??

nickfish - 2013-06-01 07:48

RR,
Didn't you say when you bought it that it was described as faulty and that for the low price it was worth a punt? About a ton i think you said? What were you expecting? A decent one costs at least 200 to 300 doesn't it?
You have not got the bargain of the decade, but it's not exactly a turkey either.
I got completely fleeced on a cs880 from italy recently. Complete garbage, crap packing and far too much money and ebay did nothing to help. Felt really sick about that. Did a deal with a mate though and he fixed it up. I dont want to see it again.

nick

he paid £200 for it witch i think is cheap,a good one will set you back between £300-£400 or even more for a real minter

iv just had a blown amp in my 909 (jap 777) fixed for peanuts so it's not a basket case in my book

radio.raheem - 2013-06-01 10:25

hi guys thanks for all the positive replys...cant reply to each and every one of you but thanks for being there...stereomad been on the blower to ghettoman and he seems to think one of the amps are blown or both...even though it works on headphones witch seems strange....i think by the time i send her pay for repairs. missing switch tips this is going to work out a very expensive box....there was nothing mentioned in the auction about bodged speakers blown amps anything like that....i have given away better stuff than this for free....i don't know how people can ask so much for something in this condition...i couldn't live with myself if i did that....
