In the last 2-3 months i realized

that some collectors and i say some, not

everybody are on the same category

are only in this hobby for the money .

That makes me feel so bad .

These people play with the nerves of true collectors

who really love this hobby and i was thinking of quiting S2go.

Collecting and listening to our favourite machines and

not just staring at them or having them sit in a closet for years

is just greed .

Music has soul , People have soul , money are not everything .

Dont quit Deech, I'd miss the all the pics from the markets you post! I think most of the guys on here are not into boxes to make money and like Stereo Mad said, rather than sell they would rather trade for another box. Has something happened on here I've missed Deech?

I invested heavely in Philips D8614 boxes. For sure I will be very rich some day lol  But seriously, I invest a lot in myself by learning how to fix old electronics. A practice that will become rare in the near future. Its much more efficient than putting boxes in the closet. A lot of greedy collecters will need me some day lol

It was me that Lee sold the 880 to; for £200. At the time the values were going crazy and he could have gotten £350 for it easily.

For this reason it gives me great pleasure to be able to help him with finding one or more of his wish list now; and one from mine from him!

Sadly, this is not only the case with boomboxes.

Retro video game console prices skyrocketed, and the already high prices of synthesizer got even crazier. There are way too many people who want the big price for their old collection.

It doesn't stop me from trying to get them for a bargain. Sadly for them, most people still know the normal prices from a few years ago, and the final bid never gets quite near the asking price. Be patient, and keep on looking and asking. You might find that one person who's willing to maybe even cut the price in half. I've seen it multiple times.

anybody out there "investing" in boxes should star to sell there stock,its people who remember them and had boxes back in the day that pay the most for them.. and we wont be around forever

My thoughts exactly...I've said it before, I reckon its a time limit market because its mostly us kids from the 80's who are collectors and we're not getting any younger!  There are obviously collectors of every age but I still think its a bad investment long term.
