SONY WM-F2 MINT & R2

johnedward - 2010-03-05 21:37

Have been looking for good WM-F2 for over a year now. Finally got lucky for only $27 GBP this one is perfect truly not a mark anywhere! And with the original MDR-30 headphones that sound excellent no driver damage and orig. foam intact but partially discolored as expected. Even have the case for it. I must admit that when I opened the box was surprised at how large it actually was from pictures I thought it was smaller when actually it is a bit taller that even the R2. I love the look of this player large but not to large and great feel in one's hand ( tactile touch is definitely part of the love of a walkman for me).
The radio is spot on clear and tuning is easy not fiddley as many tuners are. Great sound and strong amp. Belt is broke but easy fix and the motor is smooth and quiet running. I now have all the WM-2 family. A red WM-2 with orig. headphones, a silver AND BLACK WM-R2 and now finally a WM-F2. Life is complete Smile Big Grin Razz

SONY WM-F2

The two red lights are so beautiful in red color and intensity just could not capture it on film.

Very nice F-2 very nice price and with original headphones.
Fantastic find a Sony employee education manual very rare Sony don't normally let this type of document escape into the public domain, jealous.
Please if you have a scanner you must post some scans of this document.

Thank you Dave. I would agree Sony and any mfg. usually destroys training material and not many copies are made. Look for the booklet in next week in new topic.
Here is some outside in the sun shots of the F2. Truly only a mint perfect cosmetic condition player can appear totally as new in sunlight unless it really is. For sure this is a true example of a CLASSIC Walkman design of the early 80's.
