Very interesting stash of Sanyo's indeedy. I've always found Sanyo and Aiwa the most interesting manufacturers by far and it the 'quality' arena, Sanyo certainly are top dog.

I didn't realize it was you who bought my 5550, glad it went to a fellow collector. Don't you think it's a superb unit, superb quality & I bet Sanyo lost on every sale, you couldn't build something like that these days.

Glad you've found an M-G2, what a strange unit don't you think? Always loved the 'bolt on' appearance of the radio unit. That said I think you now need to look for an M-G1 which was in fact the first walkman I ever owned.

There was a record version of the 5550 which I've never seen but it remains one of the few units I'd still pay good money for.

Sanyo MR-S1

Yes the Sanyo's and Aiwa's are probably my favorites. I'm not sure if I have a favorite Sanyo but I know it's between the M-5550, M-4430/M-4440, M-G2, and the M-G27. I'll keep my eyes peeled for an M-G1. The M-G2 is a very strange looking unit indeed. I really like the soft-touch play button, the Sony WM-2 also has that soft-touch playback. I think it was a cool perk for those models.

Thanks again Agent

David again you surprise me with your research and choice of walkman to collect within a single mfg. company. Some really wonderful examples of Sanyo. I too like them and have several. I especially like the MS-200F with detachable speaker. A rare oddity in the walkman world not many models made that had this feature. Good to see someone young with such dedication to old technology and keeping it alive. Keep walkmaning Big Grin Nod Yes

Thanks again John. I like the MS-200F also. Would be nice to have one of the earlier model variations like this one.
