A really excellent looking player... very simple and clean cut lines on this one. The door has that pop away piece at top of cassette which makes this player one of the top 3 easiest to remove a cassette. The other is some Panansonic RQ-S series have a door that drops down over controls exposing the entire top edge and side of cassette tape for easy removal/insertion. The other is the End pop out and up Sony EX1,2,3,5 series players.
I have two blue ones one boxed of this model. How does yours sound ? I was disapointed in the high freq. performance of this model. But it may just be my players.. one never knows to judge a player because age could be affecting caps or other electric parts that affect sound. So mine may not sound like originally it should. Sad thing that is true for all players growing in years with age.

It's a really pretty unit.

I'm not a big expert on describing sounds, but it sounds a bit bass heavy to me. I need to fix the gumstick compartment because it's a bit loose, but it works when I attached the AA battery pack.

Hello JohnEdward, I wanted to give you a technical information that might please you. You are right when you say you lose the walkman sound quality over time. But this only happens with the walkman using electrolytic capacitors, especially electrolytic capacitors with low quality as those found on the walkman Aiwa. Just replace all electrolytic capacitors with high quality models to not have problems for a long time. Moreover, the best walkman have all tantalum capacitors that are practically eternal. These maintain the quality walkman audio forever.
