Rare Elusive RED WM-30 with WM-10,WM-F10

johnedward - 2009-04-29 21:29

The "WALKMAN GODZ" have shown upon me recently. I believe the RED WM-30 is a rare color in this model but am not sure. Anyone confirm? This one works absolutely perfect, was I surprised when I tested after arrival. We all have bought "works perfect" to find they surely do not. The red brushed unusual transparent red coating is astounding to view. Sadly to capture it in picture seems as elusive as finding one of these. I will try it out in sun tomorrow and add pictures to see color then.
It is in 9/10 condition cosmetically with one
noticeable scratch top opposite buttons. Believe the WM-30 is the EUROPEAN model number for the US WM-10II.

Here are some additional shots of the WM-30 with less traditional background to kick up the image fun a bit. My High School and College photography classes may be paying off ... and a LOT of time and effort taking 100 shots and using 6 Big Grin
Twenty years ago had a hobby in the gemological field so enjoy the unique backdrops. Have added my two WM-F10's and WM-10 to round out this posting on these wonderful albeit fragile design triumphs by Sony Engineering.

HAVE TO HAVE THAT REEL TO REEL LOOK I Agree

WM-10 with the SRS-10 active mini speakers. I believe it appears almost like it was designed to match the WM-10 as the 10 in SRS matches and they are nearly identical in size. The pair make a perfect traveling portable stereo. The baby in picture is my 3 month old son in 1992 wearing YES CAN IT BE..... SONY headphones and listening to my WM-3 walkman... he was brainwashed at young age to be a walkboy !!! Behind it is my center slice cut out of Amethyst quartz geode with mining figures in pewter inside and pewter train on top. I owned a jewelery store in 80's a left over trinket.

Evening all here are 2 pictures of WM-F10,WM-F60, WM-F77, WM-701C, Wm-EX1HG ( totally impossible to photograph darn chrome ) I will post many more of each next 2 days takes to long time to upload pics but worth high quality you can zoom in a lot. There is a WM-60 black on walkman musuem page mine is Red F60 and think stereo2go said his favorite was the sibling WM-F77 which have the two in single photo pretty kewl siblings. Same chassis I think. JOHN

SRS-10 ACTIVE folding compact speaker system for walkmans. For its size the two AA batteries really can wake up the sound compared to a passive walkman only powered speaker. Really love how small it folds to. You can see details on the SRS10 speakers in my post My 38 Sony Walkmans , new member johnedward

wow,,that is a great color on a beautiful player. i compared it to my wm-10II and there is very little difference. there is one wire i saw inside that looks like it might be part of the latch connection. that is lacking in my wm-10II.
