Amazing find Karex Japan EQ, Unitech portable spks/w KT-S1

Boy did I get lucky. Last week had put in search google on portable Equalizer as I wanted to see if other EQ only than Sony's SEQ-50 was made in past. Had searched about 15 pages deep in google pages fell on Craigs list ad "UNITECH portable active speakers, Karex 5 band EQ with Toshiba KT-S1. It was 1 am sent guy email and I had it purchased by 1;30am. He was a Area Mgr. for Alfa Romeo in 81-83 and a spider model he had to drive had no factory radio. So he bought the speakers/EQ and KT-S1 totally portable for use in car. It is in excellent condition. The speakers really sound impressive for age and 2 way. They use four C batteries. I have a KT-S1 working already so have a spare and the Karex really wakes up the sound. Anyone ever seen this speaker set up or a KAREX EQ? ? ? IT is so kewl that all items are from the same time frame nearly 30 years old.
Maybe this would be a early separates portable BoomWalkabout ? Laugh Out Loud Heck with Four C batteries and 8 AA batteries it weighs like a Boombox.

The KAREX is not to good looking but seems to have great quality sound adjustment ability. It is made in JAPAN and has 4 AA batteries. Comes with belt holder/protector and wrist strap. I would love to know if anyone has one or knows about this.
CAN anyone list all the portable Equalizer only units made from 80 to 2000??? for walkmans?

Thanks for posting this: I keep a list of walkmans and such with big EQs on them. Now that you post this, I remember seeing one of these on ebay a long time ago.

As for others, around 1988 or 89 I remember seeing an ad for one much like the SEQ-50; of a brand called something-Sonic. Haven't seen one or a mention of it anywhere though.

BTW that walkman-speaker setup is pretty cool.

Thank you for reply guys. WOW the Opal Sport is very kewl especially since I am a car fanatic. Unitech must have made it for Opal as speakers are identical. Am very curious to the walkman with FM module who's make is it ???? One of my areas of focus in collecting walkmans is the Tuner module models. Never seen one like that ?
