My nice sony tpls2

walkgirl - 2007-09-14 02:39

Hello Smile

Well, here is finally my nice sony tpls2 walkman Cool,
I always wanted this walkman since I did
see it on the forum here, and as they are usually
super expensive I was thinking I would never own
one, but now I have one Big Grin

As you see I have the manual and the headpones
also, but the set did not come together in one
buy, I was able to find all the things in
seperate places, the headphones, I did find on
ebay, the rest on the Dutch marketplace Cool
that is the walkman itself and the manual, the
manual was the first, then the headphones.

Now the walkman does work again, Bredgeo did say
to me he wanted to repair it for me last time he
was in Holand, but as I was working many hours
we were not able to meet up Frown, but in stead I
did bring it to the walkman repair store last
week, and not the walkmans does play super well!
Smile

Here are some picturesSmile

The walkman and the headphones:

The walkman and the headphones at a different angle:

As you see in this picture there are new foams
on the headphones, those come from an old new
headphones set I did get at the recycle store!,
there was a little box with a new set of blue
foams in there!, so not I put them on the tpls2
headphones and they look fantastic Cool,
When I did receive the sony headphones from the
seller it did seem there was a much too big
plud on the cable, and it did not fit in walkmans,
therefore my brother did put a small one on it
so it will fit the tpls2 perfect.

Another view:

And the batterie lid open with the walkman
number in it.

So, I am really really happy now, I finally own
a piece of walkman history Smile

Oh yes, the walkman does sound and play really
well!

That Sony is in good shape now, congrats Nicolle Smile

So, what's the story on the headphones? are they not quite the same type that came with the walkman originally (hence the large jack)?

walkgirl - 2007-09-18 02:49

Cool

Thank you Paul Smile

The headphones are the same ones, but my ones
did have a big plug and 5 meter cable or so Confused ,
and the ones that come with the walkman itself
have a little plug and 2 meter cable Smile

fuzzyduck - 2007-09-19 11:05

That's a fine looking machine and such a lovely colour, great score Walkgirl! Cool

walkgirl - 2007-09-20 00:32

Thank you FuzzyDuck! Smile

You did notice the nice colour! Smile, yes it is a
very nice colour, it is very dark blue, much like
the last picture, not like the first picture at
all, I think it is because of the light,

I just wish there would be more walkmans in this
colour, just odd sony did not use this colour
more on their walkmans Confused

Oh!, maybe that is a good question, why did sony
not use this colour again in its walkmans ove
the years?!

Smile

- 2007-09-20 12:16

I agree with Nicolle, why didn't they ever use that finish again?

walkgirl - 2007-09-20 13:00

To be honest, this is in my opinion the most
nice colour a walkman can have!

That is why I think it is strange they never
did use it again since this walkman.

tranxmetal - 2007-09-20 18:44

You're right!

This is the only model in that blue!

Agentorange can tell us a little more about this rare colour only available in this walkman?

ao - 2007-09-21 00:52

Not sure why this was this colour to be honest. There were some cheaper 90's models which used the colour again but the colour didn't extend much further than the TPS-L2.

The more I think about it the more I love the question.

skippy1969 - 2007-09-21 17:29

Thats a very nice Sony Nicolle!!!! I'm glad you finally have one. Big Grin

walkgirl - 2007-10-14 09:17

Thank you very much Skippy1969 and Sylke Smile

Cool

I am still very happy!, and it might sound
strange, but my old tapes do sound much better
on this walkman!, it does sound more 80s as
other walkmans I own! Smile
