Here is my recently purchased Crown GX-10 walkman cassette player. I have never seen a similar one before. It has a lovely high gloss metal finish, notice my camera in the reflection. Although this one has an inline remote, it is pretty basic. No auto reverse. No Dolby noise reduction. No rewind. It doesn't even have switch for normal/metal tapes. But i like it, and it sounds pretty good too. It was never used, and even came in original plastic protective bag. Oh, and it only cost me 1 euro. That has to be a bargain!

Well now a brilliant find to be sure.  Anything boxed unused is a time capsule treasure.  I have never seen a Crown player with full metal body.. Crown usually known for making the less expensive budget models.  Can see the mechanics inside with one idler wheel etc done to keep cost down.  Great find and still working too.  Even if not higher quality on rarity scale you have a gem.   Bet no one else in forum has one.  Congrats.

Its interesting to note that Crown did sometimes make very high quality items.  I have a Boxed CD-10 which is the exact clone of the Sony awesome D-88 world's smallest CD player and a great sounding one it is.  One of the very rare instances that Sony licensed another mfg. to use its exact design. Very odd to me.

On side note I picked up a Crown Solar powered tape player recently from Hungary.  Its a very budget model full plastic white turned cream with radio.   I had always believed only Sony made the one Solar model and no one else ever did.  So although not a quality model that it is Solar and I don't believe anyone else in forum has seen or have a solar model other than Sony's thus the Crown's rarity is very high.  Have to do a topic on it soon.
