Recently purchased Aiwa HS-F07

minty - 2012-10-23 06:31

Here is my recently purchased HS-F07. It was listed for sale here some time back, and i couldn't resist it. I put a new belt on it, and it works flawlessly. Apart from a small scuff on the window at the front it is immaculate. Looks like it was used very little. The case is also spotless. It has a lovely almost cherry like colour.

This is the first really early Aiwa i have in my collection. And wow, the build quality is outstanding. I now know why agentorange likes these early Aiwa's so much. They are really beautiful machines. Attention to detail is amazing.

And thanks again to the seller. He was a real gentleman.

A grand addition to your collection.  The early Aiwa's apart from outstanding build quality/fit finish were some of the most beautiful designed exteriors of the day.  It is good yours did not suffer so far from capacitor leakage which seems to plague so many Aiwa models especially later 80's and certainly the 90's.

Thanks John. I don't see any damage on the board of this one. It appears to be spotless. I think Aiwa's from the early nineties onwards suffered from the dreaded bad caps. Hopefully this one will be trouble free.

I've just spent the evening listening to music on this little Aiwa. Bit of Dylan, bit of Bowie. The sound is incredible. I can safely say its the best sounding Walkman I've ever listened to. And this from a Walkman from the mid eighties with no fancy bass boosting circuit or graphic equaliser. Awesome. The sound is just so clear.

un and they have him???????

mess

minty - 2012-10-23 14:48

Sorry to hear that. I genuinely was unaware of this. I sent the seller a message asking would he sell the item to me, and he agreed. I paid the price he was asking, nothing more. He never mentioned anyone else who had made him any other offers.

yes just like me what have they offered??

I would like to know

He asked 80 euro for it plus postage. That's what I paid via bank transfer. I can honestly say he never mentioned any other interested stereo2go members. I would never try and outbid anyone who has already struck a deal on an item.

Congrats Minty for such a great adition to your impressive collection! Those early AIWAs are really well built and have an excellent sound too, although no bass enhancement at all.

I have also one exactly like yours, with the case, belt clip and new. Mine is completely new; never used. It was not working, but now it's serviced and fully working :-)

Do you now the model number of the headphones which originally came with this one Hugo?

walkman.archive - 2012-10-24 04:32

Mine came without headphones, but looks like they were the HP-M15... as I barely could see in this cropped scan

minty - 2012-10-24 06:41

Thanks Hugo.

ok thank you for the info I had offered 100 euro

Now what the hell is good because you do not

minty - 2012-10-24 13:33

Why did you offer 100 euro if he was only asking for 80?

No, I asked him for 100 euro then the auction ended and he sent the account data without further word but I think at this point of time they have already bought it, but now I wonder why the good man sent me the account data

ok let's leave that we are all collectors

minty - 2012-10-25 05:07
