Espera means 'waiting' in Spanish... like: "you wait and see"

Lovely collection. In my view, this was one of the most beautiful Walkmans ever made. Sad to see the great Sanyo brand gone. Apparently the word Sanyo means five oceans in Japanese. The founder of Sanyo said his products would travel the five oceans.

Cool, I didn't knew that.
but they ain't dead yet...today they are making household products and consumer electronics mainly rechargeable batteries..

Panasonic recently bought them out, and they are going to drop the Sanyo name.

beautiful and unique collection! sanyo had a style of its own with portable audio. in my opinion their walkmans and boomboxes are among the most beautiful and original ever made.

Hi I have a black Espera in perfect condition, but the rechargeable battery is missing... I looked a bunch of places and on line, can't find that long square 1.5v battery. any help..?

A standard Sony rechargeable battery will work.

Now, I got a new battery (they call them gumstick) , it's 1.2v , the right lenght but half the thinkness... and it doesn't work, just a little click click ..

Did all the research and looks like the type fo battery for the Espera disappeared completely. Any other ressources outthere to find the right replacement battery.. ? thanks
