Boombox Exhibition

deech - 2012-11-29 01:02

Goodmorning Everybody !

I need help from you guys and girls ofcourse! to find the right picture

for The boombox exhibition i will present on 8th of December

in a cafe near the center of the town i live!

It will have to be on a leaflet-flyer and a poster for promoting the exhib.

I was thinking of a boombox in an artistic form (stenciled or painted)

But i know that you will have nice ideas too , so i m asking for a little help

Ofcourse everybody is invited and when the flyer and poster will be ready

i will upload it here on S2G !

lav.loo - 2012-11-29 02:32

sounds great Deech, personally i would do something really bright and colourful with a dark background to make it stand out.

also putting sound waves from the speakers is a nice touch.

i look forward to seeing your pics

samovar - 2012-11-29 03:00

just need to know when the exhibit is, format of leaflet and poster (A4?; 50x70/100x70?) and in the weekend i'll give you pics and graphic tips

I was thinking more or less the same a dark background Lav to make the box

stand out and sound waves would be great as the exhibition will be named

'' The Walls of Sound'' so the waves would be ideal !

The exhibition will be held from 8th of December 2012 until the end on January 2013

nearly for 2 months ofcourse all that if the end of the World will not come according

to Mayas on the 21st of Dec !

The dimensions of the flyer are about 10,5 cm x 18 cm

And the Poster  will be a standard A3 (29,7 cm x 41 cm) Sam !

It is great for taking the time to help me out !

The exhib will have more or less 25 to 30 boxes !

There will be an opening party and a closing party

ofcourse with the appropriate music .

ha ha i forgot about the mayan prediction for 21st december, lets hope they was wrong

samovar - 2012-11-29 04:18

mayans couldn't predict their own extinction, so you see how reliable they were  but the funny thing is that they never predicted the end of the world. just the end of another natural cycle, after which there's a new start, as (in their vision) it had always been and always will be. no danger in sight whatsoever, the exhibit will be a success

nevone - 2012-11-29 05:43

My 2 cents: you should use one of your boomboxes, otherwise you will advertise for something you don-t have.

True! cant and dont want to use a pic already up on the net.

i was thinking of using a pic i already have from the boxes i have,

edited with a program !

This way is going to be genuine, unique and never before posted online

and most important not copyrighted by anyone else!

Interesting idea Deech,

How about boomboxes in the forground with 1980's cars or streetscapes in the backround or boxes left unattended in industrial settings (in front of grafitti or subway platforms) or even better, mixed in with current technology and fashion as a sort of "fish out of water" motif

Just some ideas from an 80's junkie

soundboy - 2012-11-29 12:26

well it was more of a moral support than anything else  but i'm happy for you, the event promises well. by the way congrats for the interior decoration: the wall of suspended boxes matches the title of the exhibit at perfection! i love also the disguised boxes on the shelves. very well done!

aestereo - 2012-12-05 20:24

Great initiation and well done.

Would you post some close-up picutres of that champagne colored National Panasonic 5230, including that of the controls on top?

Had I been in Greece, I would have done it already!
