The jewel: AIWA PX30 Silver

walkman.archive - 2013-03-19 16:51

I'm proud to share with you that I recently got one of my most desired models: the silver, japanese version of the famous AIWA PX303.

AIWA Walkman HS-PX30 Silver 02-p

This beautie is really awesome. It has the same monolithic design as the PX303, one of my favorite models, but also in precious silver. I'm definitely in love with this walkman.

This unit is in very good condition, with only a scuff in the read as well as a dent just below the dolby logo. Other than that, it's like new.

It's really rare to see both the black PX303 and the PX30 together. I believe it's the very first It's one of the very first pictures in the Internet:

AIWA means "YES" in Arabic.

A big AIWA to your AIWA

Very Elegant Design. Apple (who are stuck with their current Iphone design) can think of it while designing next Iphone.

"It don't matter if you Black or White".........a short lyric that you might familiar with..
Hi Hugo congratulations for your possession. Just how amazing these beauties paired up in the shades of monochrome. Does this Aiwa has the common generic bad caps issues like some of the models did?

walkman.archive - 2013-03-20 11:10

I didn't know what AIWA means in Arabic. Curious.

I'm amazed of how beautiful design top models between 87-91 have... really wonderful.

Yes, the PX303 & PX30 has also the common bad caps problem. The black one you see here, however, has been fully serviced and sounds amazing. I'm listening to it right now. The level of detail is impressive. One of the best sounding AIWAs indeed!

Personally I feel why Aiwa is more outstanding as compare to Sony is the aesthetic itself. Aiwa has its distinctive looks in the overall design, stylish, elegant and not forgetting the robust mechanical design. Two thumbs up for Aiwa!

Excellent looking unit. It has that exclusive and expensive hifi set look. Especially the simple elegant rectangle buttons only visible by the thin gaps and small icons and fonts.

Ah a real true GEM of Gem's Hugo.   The JDM Silver is stunning , clean with the best of classic design for era.  And sound that is as you say one to be in love with.  A most lucky man to have both versions in working and excellent condition.   Enjoy and listen to them :-)

Thanks John. Yes, the PX30 is one of those real gems, indeed! I'm fortunate to hove both, but only the black one works. the silver still not, but I'm happy however with the black, as it sounds so well. Really well...

Well, isn't that worth murdering for? With a smile!

That is just too gorgeous to look at! Tell me, is the front the same polished and brushed aluminium surface like on the black model?

The black one is really cool though. It looks like something only Darth Vader would carry in his pocket. It's too cool and too dark even for Lord Vader himself!

Superb quality pictures as always. You must be a pro Cheers mate!
