It took me 2 years to complete this ctp-1a player collection!  Many people dont know that sony puts out 5 versions of every model.  Only the E model or Japanese domestic model is capable of accepting the tuner pack.  Even this tuner pack is hard to find! My first player here was the wm-w800.  There are many of these out there. Some of the standard  w800 include a power strip, but not the notch in the door to tune.  Next I found a flamingo pink wm-55.  Next I got the black wm-40! Wow! What a great player! Solid and a favorite among collectors. If you want one expect to pay!  The 10rv will not play the tuner. Next I was able to get my hands on a wm-R15.  This player is know for its headphones that can record. I did not get these but it did come with a tuner pack.  It has a matching serial number to the player!  A lucky find indeed!  Last but not least I found a wm-R55.  This player has a loud speaker on back and a counter!  It will also record on both sides of the tape without interuption!  This player was made for business people who wanted a tape recorder and a stereo walkman. It was available only in silver and charcol. It was the last to be produced and in small numbers!  I believe only 20,000 were built!  My R-55 serial number is 12041!  I also have a UK version wm-R55 with a serial number of 13962.    So I also believe my Jdm model is one of the last ones made!  ENJOY!

Dean that is one AMAZING accomplishment.  I would dare to say you are the only member or person in world with all FIVE Sony players that work with the CTP-1A tuner pack.

About as rare finds as there can be.  My hats off to you something to be very proud of.

thanks John! You have all the colors that I do not!  Actually, you have a blue wm-55 with a tuner pack. I was wondering if the serial numbers of the player and tuner pack are the same?
