The player is the JVC CX-R7K. A beautiful full logic player and one of the last personal  player from JVC!  The played is a compact cassette sized amp speakers from Maxell. Powered by two aaa batteries I am not sure this will exactly blow you away! Either of these are not easy to find but well worth the effort!

Hugo, here is the player from JVC that I believe is very similar to your JVC CX -CV9! Also of interest is the fact that these 2 are the final offerings from JVC as far as walkmans go!
