Well i must start like this for this post !!!

I woke up late this morning about 10 o clock and i thought to myself that maybe

i shouldnt go at the flea market today,

I was feeling a bit tired from yesterdays night and i

was thinking that all good stuff

must have gone until i get there !!!

After a cup of coffee i gave it a second thought and said what the hell

I will just go for an hour and then come back home!

I vre been browsing all over the flea market

and i was giving up hope for finding even

a small unit and at the end of the walk i saw a very well known shilouette

I didn't even say to the seller Good morning i lost my words and said

Good evening just asked how much for the radiocassette unit fearing he would

ask for a high price but he just said 50 i said to him i only have 30.

He replied ''30?? No i cant give it for 30 euros give me 35 and its yours!!''

And here i walked out with a beautiful Clairtone 7980

for 35 euros!

I was thinking of not mentioning the price i got it for

but I m just saying it for all of us collectors not to give up

hope for finding this kind of units out in the wild!!!!!

I have to add that i had a strong good feeling for today that

i would find something big!!

Dont need to say much about the unit as it is already known to most of us!!

Never thought i d find a clairtone, aka conion,helix in Europe out like this.

Always thought that those units are too American for European

standards.

I was so surprised when i saw it !!!!!

And i was giving up hope from many comments on S2G

for not too many about and for very rare on this side of the Atlantic

let alone the Mediterranean!

Its definetely in need of some contact cleaner and a

nice bath . The cassette decks both not working as usual

but they power on and the dial light is permanently on on AC/DC

I dont know if this is right or not.

What is missing is the aluminum for the ''spare cassette holder''

not the holder itsef but only the aluminum.

Oh and by mistake caused maybe by the excitement

of the moment

i posted on the wrong board

I will have to ask for the mods to trasfer it at the right topic

as now it is at the ebay auctions (dont know how to do this by myself)

That first pic of it sitting amongst the sellers junk is the sort of thing I dream of (literally )...spotting something awesome amongst the rubbish...I normally only spot eggs so to see something like that is pretty damn cool
