Ok, I know it's a 777, and they have a strong following. But $2,499.00 for an old, plastic radio cassette is just silly. Kind of takes the fun out of collecting as most collectors I know of aren't rich!

777's arn't bad and it looks mint but no boombox is worth that kind of money...

but i know some rich collectors...one collects Rolex watches for example...

but bottom line they don't sound good enough to justify this price...no box does

I'm waiting for a re-release of the 777. It's the perfect box for it. Tamiya did it 3 years back with their grail rc car. Sharp should do it with their 777.

radio.raheem - 2013-08-23 11:10

they might but after the tdk drama i had...come to think of it anything new....most of it only lasts a year, so count me out

michiel - 2013-08-23 11:18

No, I mean a re-release like the real 80's thing. The same inside, outside, packing, everything.....

Hi Michiel, what was that car?

michiel - 2013-08-23 11:24

They re-released the Tamiya Sand Scorcher. It's a buggy. No one believed for years they would do it. To expensive to make nowadays etc... Collectors paid about $5000 for a new in box rc car of this type.... The re-release was about $400 new in 2010. It was almost exactly the same as the 1980 original!

Yes, we would like that. But I think the general public wants the 777 if it's for sale for a decent price. The m90 is just to specialized and not grail enough for people not collecting boxes.

radio.raheem - 2013-08-23 11:53

they should do it with all good boxes....instead of making junk like the tdk......tell ya the demand would go through the roof...or even parts....id pay £200 for an m90 deck for example

lav.loo - 2013-08-23 13:12

And I thought the £650 bin m70 was ridiculous
