Headphones that've lost their MoJo

My Sennheiser PX 100 - 4 yrs old are somehow now sounding dull. They've never been over driven and when I first used them they sounded amazing. Initially (although not nearly as good) they were not exactly embarrassing themselves against HD-590. They were amazing for the money but now sound crap - EQ is a must. I've airdusted the inside and washed the earpads. Any one have an idea as to why they are now dull sounding? I don't think my hearing has changed that much

Could be that! But other h/phones sound good. It's the treble that's rolled off for some reason..

That's interesting, usually headphones sound signature changes for the better over time. it's unfortunate that we can no longer hear the the frequencies we use to when we learn to appreciate the music even more.
