DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a used SONY WM-EX658 in grey color. It's a very nice cassette player with high quality metal exterior and nice finish.

This cassette player belongs to one of the best selling series for Sony, the WM-EX6xx range. This range was known to have a slim form-factor and plethora of features and facilities. It was also known to have a long lasting battery life. The battery life was a feature of the mechanical design with automatic variable belt tension system rather than the more usual downsizing of electrical components that lead to inevitable decrease of power output. The WM-EX6xx range, however, it was still plenty loud and had excellent battery life. The package was finished with every imaginable modern-day feature such as music search, sound equalizer, rechargeable battery system and then some. In Sony's best tradition, everything was controllable with a handy remote control. This cassette player is inevitable for any collector who wishes to have the full spectrum of the nineties slim cassette player.

STATUS: NOT WORKING. This cassette player requires a new belt because the one inside has stretched and the mechanism no longer works. Unfortunately, I have no means to replace it myself so hopefully a new owner will be able to do that. Cosmetic condition is good and there are only some very small scratches but ain't any kind of damage on the unit or the accessories. I think it is pretty good indeed.
