Hello Everybody!

miami - 2010-04-06 10:13

Hi, I introduce myself, my name is Francesco, I'm a funkateer since I wuz a child and I live in Venice, Italy! Finally, after some time spent on dreaming one, I've got some cash spare to get my first box. My choice would be between a Sharp GF9191, a GF9494 and a GF508ST. I've heard good advice 'bout the '91 and probably it would be the one which'll come as the cheapest. The '94 it's a 22w version. The 508 it's surely the coolest and, sadly, the most expensive choice. It looks as the japanese version of the '96 but I don't absolutely anything about it. I'll appreciate your advice for a newbie like me ! Have a good day !

Yes, but I think all the lettering's in Japanese or Chinese. Welcome to the site!

I like JVC M-XX boxes very much but they're way too expensive for my budget. Time ago there was a beautiful M-70 (one of the best looking boombox imho) on Ebay that went for well over than 300$, plus shipping cost from USA to Italy would be prohibitive. There's an M-90 like Monolithic's one selling now, on the description they tell that one (always one Ebay) went for 1200$ Confused Eek !!! Mental!

andyboombox - 2010-04-08 06:06

hey lav that guy looks so cool, crouched next to the m90-looks that good it could have been took in 1983!monolithic-what a beautiful blaster-all i can say lav is.....if only....... Laugh Out Loud

Hello MIAMI Smile

Thank you for the welcome and the tips guys Big Grin !
At the end I'll go for the '91 as both the '94 and the 508 are going out of my reach, I guess it would do just fine, it's a very beautiful box, good sounding and well put togheter from what I've heard, plus the fact that it's lighter than the other two it's a good thing, I want to use it, it'll never be left catching dust on a corner of the house with me, that's for sure Cool !

Looks like it's in good cosmetic condition. The seller says it works fine but needs new belts as the tape stops to play after 2 seconds. FFs and RWs fine altough...
