I want to show you the Soviet clone of the TDK MA-R cassette!
МАЯК МК60-6А:

Now that's interesting! A TDK MA-R clone.
A few questions:Is it metal tape also? Is it well constructed? Is it rare?
Thanks for sharing.![]()
It seems that there were many devices ,worth mentioning, from that period ,I wonder how Маяк looked like.
Very interesting info thunder.![]()
Interesting, I would change the "normal" reels with some better stuff, Maxell XL.R TDK SA or whatever...
I love to see these rare gems! Pictures of hi end TDK tapes really do it for me but pctures of stuff like this are fantastic; i have have never seen anythiing like this before, an MAR copy! Very educational!
What's happening here we entered a parallel universe?![]()
Made in Italy printed in the leaflet and German tape?!!![]()
Good stuff thunder!
This topic is full on Heavy Metal!![]()
I don't recall a cassette with metal shell ,this must be an original idea from this company as the "PAT.PENDING" suggests and the answer they give to "why metal?"seems to be valid.
I really like the looks of it.![]()
That's really cool; a solid metal tape shell! Again very educational!
The Conrac cassette reminds me my rare Pioneer PK3 walkman ,with its plated door ,which mimics the original compact cassette shell design:
No as long as you can keep the gate open!![]()
I,m impressed with this BASF many questions too:It was mass produced? what year? what was awarded for?
Russians or not pretty nice, thanks for sharing.
Ah the portal is open again!![]()
Very interesting these two Nacamichi they seem to be made for adjustments.
The one says Azimuth align and the other Track alignment and both have serial numbers.
Thanks thunder.![]()
Very interesting adjustment cassette from Nakamichi in full metal shell:
Minimal design,I wonder what adjustments it was made for.
It looks solid metal without reels,a calibration instrument practically.
Another interesting cassette. It does not have a "metal body" shell, but it has its own azimuth adjustment!
LUXMAN XN-I Skewing C-60:
Photos from tapeheads.net
Interesting tape, very curious
I´ve never seen something like that
Brilliant idea, is anybody out there who has/had this one?
Great find thunder.![]()
Great, maybe sometime,he could tell us how it worked and if it made a difference sound wise.![]()
A prerecorded TDK MA-R and "NOT FOR SALE" ,definitely a parallel universe!![]()
You are ready to continue traveling in parallel universe?
With this cassette, you can freely adjust tape recording time to fit the length of whatever you record.
TDK TIME EDITOR 2 max 70 (Japanese market):
Always on board!![]()
TDK was working overtime those days to bring new ideas ,one use I can think of for this ,is if you had to go to work the same time your favorite 30min radio program started.
I guess is highly collectible today.
