I have recently purchased a wm-2 on eBay. After repairing the disk, replacing the motor (The Original one was seized) and belt, I was astonished by the amount of wow and flutter. I cleaned off all the melted belt from the capstan and motor, but it didn't seem to help. I even tried repositioning the motor, but that didn't help either. I'm wondering if my disk repair is not up to spec ( I inserted a piece from another disk into the crack and glued it together with epoxy) or is something else in the machine is awry?

Buy a new centre gear from Marian and replace it. The additional teeth method was ok while no other option was available. Search for Sony centre gear on eBay.

A lot of w/f can be the visible rubber rollers being deformed or covered in residue
