    I own the PHILIPS Spatial D8323 compact cassette radio/boombox.

    I plug in my smartphone to the D8323 with 3.5mm cable to the line in of theD8323. And I press " tape". Now i can hear the music from my smartphone.
    But there is a anoying hiss coming from the speakers. Especially between songs, or a quiet music-piece. I already have the volume on my smartphone on maximum. that helps a bit.

    Any suggestions to resolve it?

    tnx!

    The Line In on many Philips boxes is not attenuated correctly.

    @Reli THANK YOU!
    That did the job perfectly:
    I happend to have left over cables (wrong Ali-orders) and they were meant to be for this solution!
    Listening now (NIN) and the sound is way better than i expected, such a good work-around!
    Again tnx!!

    In the meantime i "discovered" another solution when i was tweaking with my old Philips TV with only antenna-input. I plugged an RF-AV converter to the television. And the RF-AV converter to an AV-HDMI converter. I got beautiful b&w picture on my screen, but no sound, no matter what i did.
    So i plugged the audio cables to my Philips D8323 on the line-in socket instead of the RF-AV converter. That worked immediately! But oh my... the ground noise of my old television came through as well... totally distortion!

    So while frustrated - i tweaked with the D8323 and for no reason i pushed the play button and the record button and at the same time pushing right-under in the cassette-mechanism the record switch with my finger.
    At once the ground noise disappeared and the loudness was very strong and cristal clear! Now i can watch youtube, movies, etc on my old television and the sound is coming from my boombox!
    And if you push the Pause button the cassette door wil close, and the sound will not disappear :)

    This weekend i'll add some pictures to this thread, which for me 2 x succes!

    And for another trick....If this model has a "REMOTE" socket, you can insert a plug and the tape motor will stop.

    I'll have to check that tomorrow. Seems there are enough possibilities!

    As promised a few pics of my set up: content%3A%2F%2Fmedia%2Fexternal%2Fimages%2Fmedia%2F200150.jpg
    Line in cables to rf>>av>hdmi>chromecast-converter > television.
    Mic in cables blue > splitcable black > bt-receiver.

    Cheap Maxxter bt receiver, buzzed a lot when I plugged it in the "line in".
    Now plugged in the "mic in" socket no buzz at all.
    content%3A%2F%2Fmedia%2Fexternal%2Fimages%2Fmedia%2F200157.jpg play, rec buttons pushed in: the volume now is much louder (amplified?), no hiss / buzz.

    @Reli
    I tried the "remote" socket with an old cable. It works! The tape motor stopped immediately when I plugged in the plug.
    Note: it has to be a 2.5mm plug (the black one is the 2.5mm). Not a 3.5mm, that won't fit in the remote socket.
