Hello, I am looking for the Sony TC-K51 cassette deck but they appear to be rarer than rocking horse teeth. Anybody know where one may be found
Welcome! Good luck in your quest, I never run across nicer Sony Decks, I used to find the nice dual well decks all the time but never bought them. Over here I think Sony had an identity crisis and while they owned the quality mid-level market, most people went to other brands for the higher-end stuff. So what's the story with all the decks? I rarely found duplicates back in the good hunting days but surprisingly I have three similar two-headed Naks out in the shop.
I got hooked on theses decks when I was a wee chap. Grandad took me shopping, I saw them on display (shop in posh part of London) back then way out of my Reach…I was a. Always stuck in my mind how they looked in the shop….so, now I pick the odd one up, get them serviced and enjoy them. NAKS are to delicate for me…..just when they get up and running….they go poopies in their pants (bx303e comes to mind)….. so Sony or JVC (KD -V6 and Yamaha KX 330 and 1100.
