Got some sad news today

    I’ve just received a call from Derek Marshall’s wife, who was very upset. Sadly, Derek died in hospital last Friday, surrounded by most of his family.

    I hadn’t spoken to Derek for about six weeks; the last time we spoke, he seemed to be getting better. Although he had ongoing health issues, his death has come as a great shock. I will miss our little bits of banter on and off the forum.

    Rest In Peace doesn't seem appropriate for an audio enthusiast so
    Blast in Decibels Derek.

    I'm very sorry to hear of Derek's passing. I have been in touch with him, both on and off the forum and he was always very easy to get on with and a thoroughly decent fellow.

    Yes, Derek was a nice guy, we always planned on meeting up in person but never got round to it. One lesson I have learned here is, never leave till tomorrow what you can do today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
