Came across this Aiwa T7 rechargable blue tooth walkman....looks like the brand Aiwa is now owned by Guangzhou Aihua Electrical Technology. Comes with earbuds....how much this is still Aiwa as we know it, i dunno.....looks like its only for sale in Asia, not much info maybe for the best i guess. It's available in white and champagne from what i can tell....
I think people will look back at all these brands that lived on name only with fascination. I often wonder about old movies that didn't do so well at the theatre but now years or decades later are finding regular viewers across multiple streaming venues. At some point they must be generating some good revenue just like some movies did great on VHS, sometimes better results than the theatre run. Are these licensed products generating a ton of revenue? There was an auction a few years ago with hundreds of old brand names. A lot were recognizable here in the USA and some were going for hundreds or thousands of dollars, not much for a known brand. Now when brands go down, there seems to be a lot of stigma attached like the ev cars (Fisker) that get "bricked" when the manufacturer shuts down the server or the dozens of home-automation companies (Insteon, Nest, Wink) that also brick your house when they close shop. Yea we'll probably be seeing old branding for a long time.
