Sony (and other) Headphones

    I'm not sure either if there are more differences than the cord and the plug.
    Looking at both headphones they look identical, I also think the MDR-3L2 is just an MDR-3 with a shorter lead and a small jackplug.

    The only thing I noticed looking at my MDR-3 is that the headband is black, the MDR-3L2 has a lightgrey headband, according to images I saw.

    Maybe I can find some more info, I'm paging through some early 80's audio magazines, someone has to have a write-up on the headphones. There might be something up in the Walkman Archeaology Thread.

    Sennheiser HD40 from 1983, I left in the date, the copyright is from 1981! These might be nice headphones but Sony blows them away with design.

    Sony 2001 Headphone Catalog, thanks tas66dc! Some of the middle pages are missing but there's a whole lot of options, many more than I would have imagined. It's just a small listing but the MDR-R10's are silly money at 360,000 Yen! You'd think they'd highlight them more.
