I actually joined to answer a question Mister X posed 4 years ago!

I guess I would say I am a collector of, especially 80s equipment, particularly Aiwa, Sony and Technics. Living in Australia it is often difficult to find some of this equipment, so I try to buy and repair what I can.

Having a look through the site I can see that it is more about portable units, which apparently I didn't pick up from the name! I do have a few, but sadly I probably won't be able to contribute as much as I thought I might. I will definitely keep an eye out for anything I might know about, and will probably need some help myself when I get onto some of my projects.

Now should I change my profile picture to the CA-W80?

You can always join, Tapeheads. Some very knowledgeable guys there, I am a member there but have not been there for years as some of them are idiots.

Welcome to the forum Experious, we like all equipment here, if I told you I had dozens of receivers, amps, tuners, tape decks, etc, you probably wouldn't believe me. Most of us have vintage, or even newer, systems. Even TooCool has some very nice equipment besides his small Walkman Collection. I'll have to find my question!
