Hello all, it’s been a while but good to be back. Hoping you’re all doing well.

I’m looking for a little clarity regarding the Sony DD lever gear/lever assembly, driving part.

On the OEM box, it lists the Walkman models with which this part is compatible, and the WM-3 is there. I thought that the WM-3 works on the TPS-L2 drive platform, so it would not use this part. Any idea why Sony would list the WM-3, unless it was a mistake? Also, it lists both the WM-2 and the DC-2. I seem to remember that the drive gear for the WM-2 was not compatible with the DC-2 and vice versa. Am I correct in that presumption as well?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The WM-3 is a mistake (it does use TPS-L2 mech), think the intention was to list either WM-D3 or WM-DD3 both of which would use this part.
The WM-DD-2 is also suspicious, since there is already a DD2 in the first column. And the DD100 is also missing.

WM-2 has used 2 types of center gears depending on serial number. One fully plastic, one plastic molded on metal disc (as DD).
Not 100% sure if these 2 parts are fully interchanghable. The bottom part and the mounting are the same,
what could differ is the clutch diameter and in consequence the big takeup reel gear diameter.
