A few years ago in one of my big searches i came across a Sanyo mini unit not so well known back then (Sep/2014). It was a quite rare mini Sanyo M7790 in a very stylish Dark Blue colour. Here is a link with pics from the old forum (thanks michelle ) If you scroll down you can see it. http://www.stereo2go.com/topic/index.php?board_oid=193392314111653395&content_oid=193392314111960159 This little Sanyo went to the hands of member Machaneus (Sotiris). It was the least i could have given to him for fixing a JVC RC-550 and a Sanyo MX-720. This boombox is a real beauty with Soft touch keys and the AMSS Feature plus its Led show. It is one of the HI-END mini Sanyos. Now you might wonder why am i reminding you those long forgotten topics ! The reason is that 3 days ago i received a phone call from a guy selling a Silver coloured Sanyo M7790k . So to cut a long story short we met and he gave me this : Those few last months i was away from our beloved hobby , too much work in the beginning then afew let downs, my mother had some health problems and needed attention It snot hard to understand that i put aside the collection of vintage bboxes. But , now i am back stroger than ever. I am asking from the administrators to make me a moderator again . Happy to be here and looking forward to contribute to the forums. deech
Tried hard not to accept it but he insisted strongly ! I was so pleased that he was happy that the boomboxes were fixed .That was more than enough for me. Nevertheless I serviced the little thing and now works fine,a few scratches are there , souvenirs from a previous hard life. That was so generous from my friend Deech as this is the super rare deep blue color version. So great that you're back Dimitri , I know you have great stories....oops, already said too much! I wished you already ,in private, fast recovery for your mom ,wish the same and from here. A couple of photos of the blue Sanyo M7790 It looks black ,it needs really strong light to see the deep blue color
Hello, I bought a Sanyo M7790K and started to repair it. I noticed that the autostop works on PB but not on FFW and REW. Can you tell me if it is a defect? Or the cassette player does not have autostop on FFW / REW. Thank you
That's a very nice little unit, rare over here. Do you mean music search or stopping at the end of the tape? Paging through the SM it looks like music search should work on all movement. This is a good SM that tells what equipment you need and how to do testing. https://archive.org/details/manual_M7790K_SM_SANYO_EN/page/n1/mode/2up
I would like someone who has a Sanyo M7790 to tell me if the autostop only works on PlayBack and not on Fast Forward, Rewind. I mean I want to know if it works on fast forward. Thank you for your help. I studied the mechanical part of the cassette recorder myself and concluded that it cannot have Autostop on fast forward, it was not designed to have autostop on FW and REW. It is a pretty big disadvantage, there are few cassette recorders of its value, manufactured after 1980, that do not have autostop on fast forward.
