Hey guys. Just wanted to share my display case. The display cabinet is from Ikea and the model is called Detolf. Bought some led lights with a controller and remote so I can control the brightness. I've recently added some background "wallpaper" that I printed at work. Not sure what the material is called but it's a perforated vinyl with very low tack so it's easy to remove and won't leave any residue when removed. I just downloaded the Sony image and added some Walkmans and a Discman D50. Might change up the image as it's too dark. But I'm liking the result so far.
That looks great! I think there's space for more walkmans if you reduce the vertical space between separations and add more, isn't it?
Unfortunately there are only 4 shelves. I'm using the bottom shelf for storage for other walkmans and parts. Not able to add anymore shelves.
So I decided to change the background slightly for the walkmans. Dropped into the office and printed another one. I just inverted the background image and made the walkmans and discman a little brighter.
Looks great! I'd love to do this as well. Are the shelves frosted (textured) or clear? I can't tell if you've put something down on top of the shelves to protect them or if they come like that
Nice display I`m planning to do a similar display and that Ikea model is quite interesting I love cars too and specially Mazda, that one in the bottom was the one that won at Lemans race isn`t it?
IT looks beautiful. When it comes to cabinets and storage IKEA offers many option for collectors. I found out a better cabinet display that is perfect for walkmans. it can be mounted on wall or placed on the floor. I posted some pictures about 3 years ago in old forum. I will post new pictures once i go home
These Cabinets are sold at IKEA and the led strip lighting is added by myself (very easy task). The cabinets are perfect solution for walkman display. The cabinet doors and hinges are sold separately to make it cheaper for those who only want the cabinets alone. You can place another glass shelf if you rather have 3 rows instead of 2
That looks great! And you have quite interesting units there: many w800, sharp with TV, JVC with tv! And many more...
