Has Anyone seen this Walkman before?

Just picked it up on eBay yesterday, didn't know that Samsung made cassette Walkmans, Will post teardown pictures once here.

 

Ill be honest, I dont think I have seen any come up on ebay for a long time, if ever. I dont know much about them, but given the Korean decals, I would say these were very specific to that region. It looks very Aiwa-ish at first glance.

I have a Samsung mymy MY-S1 it's a nice machine, it has radio and record function no display on the unit though, it's on the remote.

Hi, Looks like its based on Sony mechanism.

 

In an interesting turn of events, I was even able to make it run. It sounds great, No dolby though

 

What does "Auto DDD call" mean exactly ? is it Korean translated with babel fish ?

 

If you are talking about square button on the right, it is A-B repeat basically. It's tracks quite accurately too.

 

I am referring to the first pictures from Mrp32Dave... it says "Auto DDD call", but i cannot associate it to any meaningful feature
