Mmm my first "real" post on the new site A few weeks ago I found a pretty fresh J500 at the local flea market.. asked the gentleman about it and he said it all worked for $25 ! I immediately grabbed my wallet and bought it! Cleaned up pretty nicely, too. New belts on the tape deck, new needle and it's rockin! Will need some work with the amp (as the right is louder than left) but other than that, and the stuff I replaced I'd say this was the deal of the year! Not bad sound either.. antenna is still intact!

Very nice find. Check out my JVC and Panasonic I scored for 30 bucks. I had this same model and it's very easy to service. The amp problem is almost due to the capacitors drying out. I have found with these old stereos that by recapping them will bring it back to life electronically.
