I was drawn to this forum by The Ultimate Marantz, Superscope, UNIX Boombox Thread. At 69, I'm revisiting cassette my recordings from the 1970s, discovering what's on them and digitizing them for posterity. I'm deaf in one ear, and I'm not an audio enthusiast, so once I share my experience acquiring and using the equipment I've decided to buy, I'll probably go silent here. Thanks to all of you who have shared your knowledge and experience.

    Hey that's my favorite thread!

Back when boat anchors were cheap I found a Marantz 2385 in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin along with monster HD-880 Speakers and they tossed in a monster Zenith just to make my truck drag the back end. I had no idea Marantz made boomboxes until reading this forum and then I lusted after everyone I saw. In the early days it was once every 18 months or so that they'd come up for sale.

Feel free to contribute to the thread, like a few others, they just keep getting longer. Unfortunately some of the orginal postings on other websites have disappeared so at least we have a record of the catalogs.
