They had some gems but right around 84-85 seemed to be the tipping point where they went more for numbers than quality. Right when you think all their stuff stinks they pull out something like the first portable DAT. I would love to see sales figures for any of these companies, everything I see is hundreds of thousands with the special edition exceptions like the Sony Gold/Silver Walkmans.
Found down in the forum reader, the AIWA HS-P06, not sure who first posted it, the google gives a direct link to it.
Yea I had to check your site to see if it was posted. I think it's missing a back page but don't know for sure. If I had to guess SEB or Retro probably posted it.
I may have posted this before, a very cool unique Beta VHS Machine that mates with a receiver from 1984, it says it's small and portable, anybody seen one of these?
1984, I need to start a thread with the "ON AIR" Models, they broadcast on FM so you don't need a headphone cord or you want to play on your home/car reciever. There's the Sky Play Model on the last page. Of course you won't find these rare models on your local walkman.land search.....
A later 2001 aiwa Catalog, thanks tas66dc! Mostly nothing special but there are some interesting units in the bunch, you can tell the nice ones are 2x the cost. The boomboxes don't amount to much but the HS-JXM2000 looks interesting. Check out the HS-PS008, it looks like a cheap case but does it have a logic-controlled remote?
