    Hello,

I purchased end of last Year on E-bay an "AMSTRAD MODEL 606" that is visually closed to the SONY TPS-L2.

I bought it as "not functional" for almost nothing and I fixed it. This is a nice basic walkman but I have absolutely no information about its history, I found nothing on the network excepted the pictures from the Ebay auctions I won (still available in the net), I tried to E-mail AMSTARD new owner but everything that is relative to audio is closed.

Have you every seen this model? do you have any information?

    Thank you.
    Nicolas.

Welcome D Nicolas G, we call those models "clones" since they look nearly identical to the Sony TPS-L2. There were hundreds of them, most pushed out by companies copying Sony's early success and placing third party labels on them. In the old days you could buy a pallet load of players for resale and the manufacturer would put your name on them. Check out autoreverser's thread, this is one of the all time greats documenting these treasures.
