I was doing my usual morning internet search for radio cassette players and found this obscure brand from Korea called Anam. I've found a few random photos around the interwebs, most are for sales, sorry for not crediting the original posters.

"Manufactured by Korea's Anam (Anam). Anam was a company in a technical partnership with Japan's Matsushita Electric. Models made with Matsushita's technology and parts were sold under the Anam National brand. This is a model from around 1986~1987. "

They're still selling brand new equipment, some looks like rebranded Orion or Wintech amoung others.

It looks like they were a builder for National or were supplied parts?

Anam's radio cassette players—produced in partnership with National (now Panasonic)—occupy a significant place in the history of Korean audio, representing a product line that delivered high-quality audio experiences, particularly during the 1970s and 1980s.

**Technical Partnerships and Reliability:** Since the early 1970s, Anam Industrial has produced high-quality radios and cassette players through a technical partnership with Japan's National. These products delivered premium-level performance to Korean consumers, combining the credibility associated with the "National" brand with Anam's manufacturing expertise.

**Historical Context and Popularity:** During the period from the 1990s to the early 2000s—when cassette tapes were the dominant medium for listening to music—Anam National products enjoyed immense popularity due to their exceptional durability and superior sound quality.

**Features and Functionality:** Early models typically featured a design that combined an FM/AM radio tuner with a cassette player, reflecting the analog sensibilities of the era; thanks to their solid fundamental performance, they were highly regarded even among audio enthusiasts.

**Retro Trends and Modern Reinterpretation:** More recently, Anam has adopted a strategy that successfully blends nostalgia with modern technology. By preserving the "retro design" aesthetic that captures the spirit of the past while incorporating contemporary features—such as Bluetooth connectivity, USB playback, and digital tuners—the company has introduced a new series of retro radio cassette players, including models like the "PA-720bt" and "PA-730BTS." that incorporate modern features like Bluetooth connectivity, USB playback, and digital tuners.

The Anam National radio cassette player series is widely regarded as a product line that symbolizes the enduring nostalgia for high-quality analog audio within the history of audio equipment development in Korea.
