Hey everybody, I've been lurking for a while and looking into various walkman and cassette related equipment now for about a year. I've been accumulating a few things here and there, and I've finally picked up a walkman wm-150 (a christmas gift from my wife) and I'm just working on figuring out what I need to do to fix the thing. My main tape deck is a Yamaha KX-500 which I absolutely love, and right now I'm just really enjoying the scene in general. Obligatory pics of my wm-150 find the gallery here. https://imgur.com/a/sWNezNV

Welcome from the great white north! That looks like a nice little unit and a great start to an awesome hobby, there's nothing better than a wife that likes your equipement, most of the time they seem to tell you to get rid of stuff but Walkmans are small and can be hidden easier. I had to look up the Yamaha Deck, I've been on the fence and kind of looking into getting one to match some recievers I have.

Well for casual listening I can definitely recommend it. To my ears it's definitely the best sounding tape deck I've used. (Admittedly this is out of 3 or 4 tape decks total, so I'm not exactly an expert here) I also really like the styling in general, the big slider and the VU meters are all really nice looking.

    Welcome!

That's a nice walkman you got there. I'm very fond of that type as well, though didn't get a hold of any. :)
When you open it, make sure to remove any sticky rubber leftovers of old belts and check the capacitors too. As far as I know it got many similarities with a WM2091 as they pretty much seem to belong all to the same family along with EX49 and GX50 and so they seem to fall victims to capacitor failure if I'm not mistaken (I own two WM2091 with capacitor failures).
